At Asakusa, we walked towards this gate, and then found this shop selling fresh fruits. Bought the tiny tomatoes which were really juicy and sweet which burst in your mouth!
making red bean cakes -- this good-looking shop owner was making fresh ones behind a glass pane, his timing was precise and practiced. very aromatic! and delicious too =D
reached the temple near the shopping district - a 10 min walk from asakusa station. it was full of tourists, and people going to pray. there were students sitting on the floor and drawing =) that was super interesting! they were having this school excursion to the temple to draw it! their drawing was full of detail! learnt a new word for holiday -- yasumi
assortment of mouth-watering donuts waiting for death's call.. we didn't buy anything cos we just had breakfast but my mom couldn't help but look inside..
we chanced upon Ameyoko street, and there were people giving out tissue paper along the road, everything looked western - from clothes, shoes to the music blaring out! Walked into a shop that happened to sell almost everything - jigsaw puzzles, miniature flying helicopters, all kinds of things related to manga characters etc.. it was 8 stories high, incl. basement!
onigiri filled with seaweed! bought at a shop near to the Asakusa station, they sold sandwiches, onigiri, bento sets! very delicious -- the first one i bought in japan and subsequently fell in love with.. i ate it for breakfast everyday haha
strawberries bought - huge packet for 300yen only! we ate half of it, but the other half moulded when we wanted to eat it the next day..
this is the onesen we wanted to go to, but cos it was a holiday today, it was closed..
quite disappointing cos we had walked all around looking for it..
Dinner at Tawaramachi .. a cosy family restaurant near the station exit no. 3 haha
Prawn tempura set! 900 yen

we hung around for awhile to take in the different sights. so this is where all the bigshots worked in Tokyo!
Getting tired, we trudged back to our Ryokan at Tawaramachi, 30 min ride from Tokyo station.
Here my mom making a phone call to my dad while the 2 of us hung around aimlessly in the empty streets.. so we decided to take some photos of this place since we'll be checking out tmr morning!
a firecracker we bought at the 100 yen shop, but now there's no hope of unleashing it, cos we're not allowed to do that in this dense city. plus we might get into trouble with the law. why sell it when we cant burn it? cries!
this is our beloved budget restaurant where we ate breakfast the previous day, and dinner..
posing with a bicycle parked along the street..
jonathon's opposite the street..
back to ryokan to sleep
