well, as one would have guessed.. school hasn't been on my mind lately... Since i started my bike lessons, all my posts have been about my bike lessons (mostly my mind is filled with 'When will i pass the bike test?' & 'Which brand of bike is good for me?' thoughts.. Well, i guess having an exciting life learning bike riding is something really thrilling for me, and even though everyone around me keeps telling me about how dangerous it is to ride and etc, I am STILL really thinking about the benefits of saving money, having a thrill each time, and going to explore parts of Singapore..
OOPS! what have i done? this post is supposed to be about SCHOOL _ _ _ yawns. in case you dint know what the 3 dashes are, they represent me lying down sleeping. haha. Shows how much I am really thinking about bike.. okok, since this is a blog, I was thinking of including some posts about the current sch situation so when I read it in future, i can remember how slack I am.. lols
At this time of the semester, all the deadly deadlines have ended (besides 1 termpaper for me). The past 1 month of October was killer month and there were many project meetings, presentations, and essays due.. almost suffocating everyone! well, so this month of november is supposed to be preparation for exams, but just feel that there seems to be nothing much to study despite the 'heavy workload' of year 4! its quite deceiving .. well I wonder how i'll do this time for exams, with this kinda attitude.. lols
Well, one good thing about the month of october is that I got to know more school mates and got closer to a few of them.. which is good and I am really happy about it! =D hee!! (the three years of not having a fixed class and not knowing many ple in school during tutorial lessons just seems to be making me into someone different.. recall the days when we had a class all along - pri sch, sec sch, JC) however, year 4 has seminar style classes with 50 ple in each class.. its so much better since now we seem to know each other (at least see b4) and most ple turn out to be quite friendly and smiley too! hehe

I am in control of my life!
Yep! recently i've been thinking about this statement alot.. I am the one in control of my life.. When I ride, I am in control. If im lousy, it just reflects on how much I am in control - badly.. anws.. The idea that im in bad control simply springs up day after day, lesson after lesson. Although i passed the previous lesson, it just seems that there's some basic thing that keeps coming up, the basic issue is that I lack control. how can I be in control when I actually lack control? hmm. Well i guess it reflects how much I am in control. When things go badly, I am in control. When things go well, I am also in control! haha
For instance, I was riding up the slope, when I suddenly let go of my clutch (i think), which caused me to jerk forward and then i think i suddenly pulled it back abruptly, since i was shocked. Anws, it just stalled in the middle of the slope.. and left me hanging in mid air.. I was defenseless as my engine refuses to start after pressing the engine button. Well, the always there for you KIck start lever was finally put to the test. and not only did i kick it many times, my instructor was helping to kick it too.. haha! The worse thing was that after kicking start the engine, I again did another mistake.. and the rest was a snowball effect of mistakes after mistakes (i really wished i became a snowball in the slope -- i could have easily rolled down without much effort) but as if tat was the case! I stalled and kick-start for maybe 7-9 times. Really gotta thank the instructor and the cars & motorbikes behind me for their wonderful patience!! I lack tat kinda patience, so i feel bad .. After this incident, i'll be more patient to others hehe

Riding with the wind is so cool!
This time round, the instructors were cool and pro! They let us learn step by step how to change gear, change gear and stop without brake, then change gear and stop with brakes!! Sugoi! I wished these 2 instructors were my instructors all along and in future! They work super well together and teach really well! If only the other instructors were like that too.. :(
Riding fast in Gear 3 with the wind blowing really gives me the kick! Gear 3 Really is a kick man!! I wished i could just ride around the estates already lor.. It's like my addiction has been satisfied momentarily.. Somehow i dont see how i can NOT get a bike after passing my riding test.. haha
Changing gear, starting up.. seems so easy now! It's like, i can open throttle and half clutch at the SAME time lei!! Cool rite, so when i start up, i take no time at all, compared to the other ple in the lesson (hope this lasts man!) I do feel tat it's easier to control the bike and throttle now, and changing gear and stopping is no problem! Like, im still increasing throttle at the bend, then Right hand Close throttle, Brake (Foot brake + hand slightly) and then Left Side Clutch In, and Step down to Gear 1! ALL in the last 3 metres!! COOL!! SUGOI
Anws.. I think i was WAY better than the last lesson! and the instructor was Good looking too!! AHHH! When i asked him when he'd be teaching the next lesson, he said he doesn't know, cos it's arranged by the other admin staff =( SOBS
HAHA anws.. just hope i get better instructors since next lesson going into the circuit with all the other people learning car and bike! CANT WAIT!! HAHA
Apparently, there're 12 lessons in total! And i've failed twice, means my total is now 14. I intend to keep it that way, since most people take 15 times only.. i better be lucky and get Good instructors ALL THE WAY MAN!
Plus there're 2 compulsory theory lessons, 1 theory evaluation and 1 theory test to take, after i take my 4.01.. hehehehhee

i attended a talk on cancer this Saturday.. It was organised by Care Cancer, a singaporean cancer society. As some of you guys might know, the head of Care Cancer is Billy Wang. Anws.. there were 3 talks in the afternoon, and I'd like to talk about 2 of the 3 talks. One was on this Non-invasive surgery technique that is performed to remove cancerous tumours in patients. The other was on Music Qigong therapy that has positive effects on cancer patients' recovery.
I found this talk especially interesting and useful in my course of study since there're actual techniques that can alleviate pain and suffering in patients terminally-ill. Psychology may help, but it's kinda secondary/tertiary help. compared to medicine or psychiatry, psychology is kinda behind its real effectiveness in a sense.
Non-Invasive surgery
All of us know that surgery is required to remove cancerous tumours in traditional surgery, which still applies for a large proportion of cancer tumors nowadays. With the advent of medical science and techniques however, Dr Wang Zhi Biao and colleagues have come up with this non-invasive i.e. non-surgical (no blood spilled) technique called HIFU technique. This technique has helped remove tumors in women's wombs (for women with cervical cancer) and has helped save the lives of many women. There were many women in the past who had their cervix removed, thus removing their reproductive system, leaving women gender-less.
Isn't that wonderful? Actually you can explore the site i included under HIFU technique to read up more about it =)
Music Therapy
This is invented by this prodigy master called Wu Shen. He knows more than 50 musical instruments and used the culmination of them all, together with his knowledge and research into the history of Chinese philosophy and music, and also his knowledge of Physics, to research into Therapeutic music for the body. His 30 year research has yielded tremendous results! He has created music that has healed many cancer patients! Just by listening to the music, the tone and specific vibration of it makes certain cells in the body 'dance' and move accordingly, which have healing properties. this research has been acknowledged in the West, and many celebs have actually benefitted from it as well! Even animals can be helped too, as a lady's dog who had cancer was cured from it after listening to the therapeutic music =)
You guys can find this website here.. There's much more explanation of the techniques used by Master Wu Shen in the website.
I greatly encourage u guys to read through these things since they're largely relevant in our lives!

woah! Uso-desu-ne! Gear changing is WAY HArder than anything i've tried.. plus there was only 70mins!! Now i know not to take Session 8! haiz.. anws.. Watashiwa Gambatte desu yo! To pass 1.02 again! haha
i just nid more practice lor.. =(
And!! the throttle on one of the bikes with lowered seats.. it's way too dangerous! its so loose and hard to control! the training session was kinda traumatic because of the throttle!! bike also kinda 'broke down' and stopped midway a few times when i changed from 1st Gear to 2nd Gear! weird.. i'll try to avoid using it the next time - or check the throttle! haiz
