updates for dec 07

well, feel that i've been neglecting my blog since dec started. so will post some updates so in future i'll know wad i've been doing.. please ignore this post if its too long for u. haha

Dec 6
Day of last exam. Horrible child abnormal. Met up with xx and pearl to have a fantastic japanese feast at Ichiban @ Wisma, and ktv at Partyworld after that. It was a really great day despite being so tired and achy after the exams.

Dec 7
Met up with xx and her group of friends (from pri sch all the way till university) and we went to p.ubin on a short trip. it was fun and we explored a little small bit of ubin (wow, ubin is already so small and yet we explored like 5% of it, so i guessed we must have been walking a small circle) hahaha.

fuzzy memories after that point. i wonder what i did. hmmmm

Ah! yes. I was working on the long abandoned jigsaw puzzle (some can refer to the half-finished one posted few months back). It was excruciating pain and torture. The jigsaw puzzle makes your mind wonder. It makes you think of many things you wont ever think of normally when you're occupied with something earthly. It makes you think if you've gone mad, just working on finding the next piece. It makes you think of long time friends and wonder if they're alive. things like that. you got my point . Anws i was working on the jigsaw puzzle and thought i'd never step out of my house alive for close to 3 deathly days.

dead or alive. i will finish it. Those were my thoughts those days. Im so glad i've finally finished a huge portion of it and chucked it away for my own good, perhaps for the next year or so.

more faint memories ...
oh now, i realised i made a mistake. i simply went to chiangmai from 9th dec to 14th dec. no wonder i thought there was a big hole in my memory!
chiangmai trip was good! i enjoyed the cool weather and it was a time spent with family! haven spent so much time alone with family for so loong! and the hotel we stayed in was huge and it was 5 stars! the 2 rooms are joined together too, so cool!

We bought- at least I bought many clothes --2 sleeveless, 1 shorts (tribal), 1 jeans, 1 monk bag, 1 slippers, 1 2008 calendar.

we did lotsa things in chiangmai and i liked my tour guide! he's 4th generation descendent from this general from taiwan. he's so cool. he's able to speak chinese though he's stayed in the north of thailand all his life! and he told me, when he was young, he had to fight with other minorities in the region- carry guns and fight! Well, fancy having a cool tour guide like that!

So- back in singapore.
after coming back from chiangmai, i did my jigsaw puzzle.. yes..

That took me 3 whole days of boredom. so after the jigsaw, i was so excited to meet up with Xx, HQ and JL (at that time, i dint know who she was) for K lunch at JEC. it was fun! and my throat wasn't sore or anything, so i sang ok. well it got too cold after awhile, and everyone started shivering. the 3 of them kept going to the toilet the whole time (well, a few times it seemed to me) and i figured out mostly cos it was too cold, but xx told us the toilet is too dirty and ugly and advised us against using it. haha Good thing i dint drink any water much so i went toilet after the whole thing ended in the nicely furnished new toilets at JEC. Wow how i remember the horrible toilets at JEC previously. they were cement floored, stinky, lack toilet paper, and the doors wouldn't close properly. Welcome to proper sanitation, young people of this generation. they'd never know wad it is to use really simple toilets. never.

well well well, one couldn't talk too much about toilets. i think the only reason why im writing this way is because of this book im reading now. its titled Catcher in the rye. the author keeps talking on and on in this 1st person and doesn't really give a clue to wad the book is about! think of that. as a reader, you get so lost. but anyways, you guys can go read the book yourself and figure out wad i mean. its by this author called J.D Salinger.

anws, after the k lunch, it was really cool cos we went to Tina's house to make cookies. that's the earlier post where there're many pictures.

Ok, in between that time, fuzzy memories hit me again. hmmm

But i remember that close to christmas, lets say, 1 week before that, we had a gathering at someone's huge mansion (actually we were invited by Tina to her church youth gathering or sth) where we didn't know like 99% of the people there. it was fun and cool all the same. we went about exploring the big mansion. many things to do there. i could stay at home the whole day wow. anws, i had some problems with my bf at that time, and i went to talk to xx about it. she was telling me stuffs too. haha and we were both sitting at the staircase leading up to the bathtub. now i know that sounds silly but that's true. we were really doing that, pink they were as i remember them.

well as i was saying, food at the party was cool. there was ham, chicken, big roasted turkeys, beef with some real nice sauce, pasta with olives (real healthy i'd say), and broccoli with campbell soup. that was nice. good menu. wow

anws there was a huge swimming pool and all! overall nice house although it was situated on the top of a steep slope. oh yes! you can see the top of bukit timah hill from there and wonder if the house was the same height as the hill top! BAhaha

after the party, life was boring as usual. I guess i tried to tidy up my house that kinda thing. but i was kinda depressed after that for a few days, i think many days. wonder why. but its all over now and im now happy as a person who've plucked a star from the skies.

It was on 22nd or 23rd (i think it was a wkend) that Arul persuaded me to go visit a Reiki Master with him. It was all the way at East Coast park (thereabouts) so we plodded along like idiots looking for the place (we were kinda lost initially). well it was a good experience. i had on my super tribal look (red bandanna, tribal green shorts i bought in chiangrai, smiley shirt or sth). well the Master seemed to like Arul alot and kept asking him alot of questions. haha
his condominium had a terrific view too! overlooking the sea with many ships. peaceful.

i think on 24th and 25th, i started learning Reiki.
u guys should read up about it somewhere k, if u ever get interested and have a chance to do so.
since learning reiki, i've been practising it everyday!

I also went for 2 bike lessons, both 2.02. so rusty after not riding for 1 month. haha. but finally met some good instructors who explained to me how to do the stupid lane change properly. rocks i tell u. so happy i passed. cant wait to get my hands on the riding license. it'll really rock, when the day arrives. well im still a beginner but i'll soon become really good. anws yep, that's the update for the month of december 2007.

New year is approaching hehe. and today arul and i made our new year resolutions. so in case you haven made yours, go do it k and stick through them! haha

December Solstice

Today is the December Solstice, where the Sun gets to the southernmost place in our Earth's sky. Oh well, rather its the Earth's rotation/spin (or something) that causes this to happen. Anyways, this marks the start of winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern hemisphere! Yahoo =) Less rain and more SUN!!

chiangmai trip

It is another unforgettable experience into another poverty-stricken area of Asia. Countries such as Laos, Maynmar, Vietnam and Thailand have the region's lowest GDP. Seeing how the people live from hand to mouth, with many young children to feed makes me wonder how much we take it for granted in Singapore. From our food, our clothes, our house, our hygiene equipment, our everything, our peace and middle-class lifestyle basically. Oh well, i just think that many things in life cannot simply be taken at face value. How do economies prosper for example? How do governments manage countries. These things are beyond the control of everyday people like us, we think. It may not be true. We should, instead of being selfish and thinking of our own needs, try to think how we can change the future into a better place. Well, we should be shaping the future with our own hands, instead of leaving it to the government. Thats cos the influence the government has on our everyday lives is simply a lot. It influences the infrastructure we have through the policies, and influences crime rates etc! Just think of how we could shape the world into a worse or a better place by being the 'manager' of a country!

oh well, getting tired of rambling on and on.. shall stop here.. will upload some nice pictures when im free.. btw, i'll be backpacking to Bangkok next Wed so do leave ur footprints on the tagboard if u want. haha
