updates for dec 07

well, feel that i've been neglecting my blog since dec started. so will post some updates so in future i'll know wad i've been doing.. please ignore this post if its too long for u. haha

Dec 6
Day of last exam. Horrible child abnormal. Met up with xx and pearl to have a fantastic japanese feast at Ichiban @ Wisma, and ktv at Partyworld after that. It was a really great day despite being so tired and achy after the exams.

Dec 7
Met up with xx and her group of friends (from pri sch all the way till university) and we went to p.ubin on a short trip. it was fun and we explored a little small bit of ubin (wow, ubin is already so small and yet we explored like 5% of it, so i guessed we must have been walking a small circle) hahaha.

fuzzy memories after that point. i wonder what i did. hmmmm

Ah! yes. I was working on the long abandoned jigsaw puzzle (some can refer to the half-finished one posted few months back). It was excruciating pain and torture. The jigsaw puzzle makes your mind wonder. It makes you think of many things you wont ever think of normally when you're occupied with something earthly. It makes you think if you've gone mad, just working on finding the next piece. It makes you think of long time friends and wonder if they're alive. things like that. you got my point . Anws i was working on the jigsaw puzzle and thought i'd never step out of my house alive for close to 3 deathly days.

dead or alive. i will finish it. Those were my thoughts those days. Im so glad i've finally finished a huge portion of it and chucked it away for my own good, perhaps for the next year or so.

more faint memories ...
oh now, i realised i made a mistake. i simply went to chiangmai from 9th dec to 14th dec. no wonder i thought there was a big hole in my memory!
chiangmai trip was good! i enjoyed the cool weather and it was a time spent with family! haven spent so much time alone with family for so loong! and the hotel we stayed in was huge and it was 5 stars! the 2 rooms are joined together too, so cool!

We bought- at least I bought many clothes --2 sleeveless, 1 shorts (tribal), 1 jeans, 1 monk bag, 1 slippers, 1 2008 calendar.

we did lotsa things in chiangmai and i liked my tour guide! he's 4th generation descendent from this general from taiwan. he's so cool. he's able to speak chinese though he's stayed in the north of thailand all his life! and he told me, when he was young, he had to fight with other minorities in the region- carry guns and fight! Well, fancy having a cool tour guide like that!

So- back in singapore.
after coming back from chiangmai, i did my jigsaw puzzle.. yes..

That took me 3 whole days of boredom. so after the jigsaw, i was so excited to meet up with Xx, HQ and JL (at that time, i dint know who she was) for K lunch at JEC. it was fun! and my throat wasn't sore or anything, so i sang ok. well it got too cold after awhile, and everyone started shivering. the 3 of them kept going to the toilet the whole time (well, a few times it seemed to me) and i figured out mostly cos it was too cold, but xx told us the toilet is too dirty and ugly and advised us against using it. haha Good thing i dint drink any water much so i went toilet after the whole thing ended in the nicely furnished new toilets at JEC. Wow how i remember the horrible toilets at JEC previously. they were cement floored, stinky, lack toilet paper, and the doors wouldn't close properly. Welcome to proper sanitation, young people of this generation. they'd never know wad it is to use really simple toilets. never.

well well well, one couldn't talk too much about toilets. i think the only reason why im writing this way is because of this book im reading now. its titled Catcher in the rye. the author keeps talking on and on in this 1st person and doesn't really give a clue to wad the book is about! think of that. as a reader, you get so lost. but anyways, you guys can go read the book yourself and figure out wad i mean. its by this author called J.D Salinger.

anws, after the k lunch, it was really cool cos we went to Tina's house to make cookies. that's the earlier post where there're many pictures.

Ok, in between that time, fuzzy memories hit me again. hmmm

But i remember that close to christmas, lets say, 1 week before that, we had a gathering at someone's huge mansion (actually we were invited by Tina to her church youth gathering or sth) where we didn't know like 99% of the people there. it was fun and cool all the same. we went about exploring the big mansion. many things to do there. i could stay at home the whole day wow. anws, i had some problems with my bf at that time, and i went to talk to xx about it. she was telling me stuffs too. haha and we were both sitting at the staircase leading up to the bathtub. now i know that sounds silly but that's true. we were really doing that, pink they were as i remember them.

well as i was saying, food at the party was cool. there was ham, chicken, big roasted turkeys, beef with some real nice sauce, pasta with olives (real healthy i'd say), and broccoli with campbell soup. that was nice. good menu. wow

anws there was a huge swimming pool and all! overall nice house although it was situated on the top of a steep slope. oh yes! you can see the top of bukit timah hill from there and wonder if the house was the same height as the hill top! BAhaha

after the party, life was boring as usual. I guess i tried to tidy up my house that kinda thing. but i was kinda depressed after that for a few days, i think many days. wonder why. but its all over now and im now happy as a person who've plucked a star from the skies.

It was on 22nd or 23rd (i think it was a wkend) that Arul persuaded me to go visit a Reiki Master with him. It was all the way at East Coast park (thereabouts) so we plodded along like idiots looking for the place (we were kinda lost initially). well it was a good experience. i had on my super tribal look (red bandanna, tribal green shorts i bought in chiangrai, smiley shirt or sth). well the Master seemed to like Arul alot and kept asking him alot of questions. haha
his condominium had a terrific view too! overlooking the sea with many ships. peaceful.

i think on 24th and 25th, i started learning Reiki.
u guys should read up about it somewhere k, if u ever get interested and have a chance to do so.
since learning reiki, i've been practising it everyday!

I also went for 2 bike lessons, both 2.02. so rusty after not riding for 1 month. haha. but finally met some good instructors who explained to me how to do the stupid lane change properly. rocks i tell u. so happy i passed. cant wait to get my hands on the riding license. it'll really rock, when the day arrives. well im still a beginner but i'll soon become really good. anws yep, that's the update for the month of december 2007.

New year is approaching hehe. and today arul and i made our new year resolutions. so in case you haven made yours, go do it k and stick through them! haha

December Solstice

Today is the December Solstice, where the Sun gets to the southernmost place in our Earth's sky. Oh well, rather its the Earth's rotation/spin (or something) that causes this to happen. Anyways, this marks the start of winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern hemisphere! Yahoo =) Less rain and more SUN!!

chiangmai trip

It is another unforgettable experience into another poverty-stricken area of Asia. Countries such as Laos, Maynmar, Vietnam and Thailand have the region's lowest GDP. Seeing how the people live from hand to mouth, with many young children to feed makes me wonder how much we take it for granted in Singapore. From our food, our clothes, our house, our hygiene equipment, our everything, our peace and middle-class lifestyle basically. Oh well, i just think that many things in life cannot simply be taken at face value. How do economies prosper for example? How do governments manage countries. These things are beyond the control of everyday people like us, we think. It may not be true. We should, instead of being selfish and thinking of our own needs, try to think how we can change the future into a better place. Well, we should be shaping the future with our own hands, instead of leaving it to the government. Thats cos the influence the government has on our everyday lives is simply a lot. It influences the infrastructure we have through the policies, and influences crime rates etc! Just think of how we could shape the world into a worse or a better place by being the 'manager' of a country!

oh well, getting tired of rambling on and on.. shall stop here.. will upload some nice pictures when im free.. btw, i'll be backpacking to Bangkok next Wed so do leave ur footprints on the tagboard if u want. haha

Bajaj Pulsar 180

This is a no-maintenance bike with good mileage! Apparently there're 4 models of Pulsar, with the latest launched in May this year. I really wana see this bike, and whether its good. The review said that it's petrol-saving due to its 2 spark ignition that allows greater efficient use of the fuel. However, its 220cc so maybe it doesn't have that much power to run fast.

And the cost is SGD5.1k. Sounds really good if the bike is no maintenance and also saves alot of petrol for every litre of it used!

DAMN!! 220cc is WAY BEYOND Class 2 B license.. I checked .. This sux! haha WEll, the older models of Pulsar are below 200cc i think..

my dream

cant believe it! i dreamt that I was riding with my brand-new motorbike! It was shiny and i actually went to ride it in a countryside. The air was clear and fresh, and the scenery was full of plants. There were a few buildings in the background. I was riding on a wooden plank as some obstacle course with my sister, and we bought a huge box of either fruits or some accessories for the bike, and we tied it to the bike and we rode off! hehe

nice dream.

Monkey-Banana Ice Cream!

WOW! Superb! It was fantastic and delicious ~ My new ice cream maker was just used and the process was amazing! It was so fun and never-seen-before!

Monkey-banana Ice Cream was freshly made and my whole family was waiting around the ice cream maker hoping we could eat it soon! hehe. Yummy~

I shall have a party when holidays start to invite all my friends to makan ice cream! (will have some time to try out other flavours with low fat and low sugar too, to make it too healthy!)
Aren't u guys happy?

interesting stuffs

The Four Agreements
1. Be Impeccable With Your Word

Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don't Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.
3. Don't Make Assumptions

Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
4. Always Do Your Best

Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

post about school

well, as one would have guessed.. school hasn't been on my mind lately... Since i started my bike lessons, all my posts have been about my bike lessons (mostly my mind is filled with 'When will i pass the bike test?' & 'Which brand of bike is good for me?' thoughts.. Well, i guess having an exciting life learning bike riding is something really thrilling for me, and even though everyone around me keeps telling me about how dangerous it is to ride and etc, I am STILL really thinking about the benefits of saving money, having a thrill each time, and going to explore parts of Singapore..

OOPS! what have i done? this post is supposed to be about SCHOOL _ _ _ yawns. in case you dint know what the 3 dashes are, they represent me lying down sleeping. haha. Shows how much I am really thinking about bike.. okok, since this is a blog, I was thinking of including some posts about the current sch situation so when I read it in future, i can remember how slack I am.. lols

At this time of the semester, all the deadly deadlines have ended (besides 1 termpaper for me). The past 1 month of October was killer month and there were many project meetings, presentations, and essays due.. almost suffocating everyone! well, so this month of november is supposed to be preparation for exams, but just feel that there seems to be nothing much to study despite the 'heavy workload' of year 4! its quite deceiving .. well I wonder how i'll do this time for exams, with this kinda attitude.. lols

Well, one good thing about the month of october is that I got to know more school mates and got closer to a few of them.. which is good and I am really happy about it! =D hee!! (the three years of not having a fixed class and not knowing many ple in school during tutorial lessons just seems to be making me into someone different.. recall the days when we had a class all along - pri sch, sec sch, JC) however, year 4 has seminar style classes with 50 ple in each class.. its so much better since now we seem to know each other (at least see b4) and most ple turn out to be quite friendly and smiley too! hehe

I am in control of my life!

Yep! recently i've been thinking about this statement alot.. I am the one in control of my life.. When I ride, I am in control. If im lousy, it just reflects on how much I am in control - badly.. anws.. The idea that im in bad control simply springs up day after day, lesson after lesson. Although i passed the previous lesson, it just seems that there's some basic thing that keeps coming up, the basic issue is that I lack control. how can I be in control when I actually lack control? hmm. Well i guess it reflects how much I am in control. When things go badly, I am in control. When things go well, I am also in control! haha

For instance, I was riding up the slope, when I suddenly let go of my clutch (i think), which caused me to jerk forward and then i think i suddenly pulled it back abruptly, since i was shocked. Anws, it just stalled in the middle of the slope.. and left me hanging in mid air.. I was defenseless as my engine refuses to start after pressing the engine button. Well, the always there for you KIck start lever was finally put to the test. and not only did i kick it many times, my instructor was helping to kick it too.. haha! The worse thing was that after kicking start the engine, I again did another mistake.. and the rest was a snowball effect of mistakes after mistakes (i really wished i became a snowball in the slope -- i could have easily rolled down without much effort) but as if tat was the case! I stalled and kick-start for maybe 7-9 times. Really gotta thank the instructor and the cars & motorbikes behind me for their wonderful patience!! I lack tat kinda patience, so i feel bad .. After this incident, i'll be more patient to others hehe

Riding with the wind is so cool!

This time round, the instructors were cool and pro! They let us learn step by step how to change gear, change gear and stop without brake, then change gear and stop with brakes!! Sugoi! I wished these 2 instructors were my instructors all along and in future! They work super well together and teach really well! If only the other instructors were like that too.. :(

Riding fast in Gear 3 with the wind blowing really gives me the kick! Gear 3 Really is a kick man!! I wished i could just ride around the estates already lor.. It's like my addiction has been satisfied momentarily.. Somehow i dont see how i can NOT get a bike after passing my riding test.. haha

Changing gear, starting up.. seems so easy now! It's like, i can open throttle and half clutch at the SAME time lei!! Cool rite, so when i start up, i take no time at all, compared to the other ple in the lesson (hope this lasts man!) I do feel tat it's easier to control the bike and throttle now, and changing gear and stopping is no problem! Like, im still increasing throttle at the bend, then Right hand Close throttle, Brake (Foot brake + hand slightly) and then Left Side Clutch In, and Step down to Gear 1! ALL in the last 3 metres!! COOL!! SUGOI

Anws.. I think i was WAY better than the last lesson! and the instructor was Good looking too!! AHHH! When i asked him when he'd be teaching the next lesson, he said he doesn't know, cos it's arranged by the other admin staff =( SOBS

HAHA anws.. just hope i get better instructors since next lesson going into the circuit with all the other people learning car and bike! CANT WAIT!! HAHA

Apparently, there're 12 lessons in total! And i've failed twice, means my total is now 14. I intend to keep it that way, since most people take 15 times only.. i better be lucky and get Good instructors ALL THE WAY MAN!

Plus there're 2 compulsory theory lessons, 1 theory evaluation and 1 theory test to take, after i take my 4.01.. hehehehhee

Tuesday, 23 October 2007

This month of the year is really hectic! anws was gonna ask you guys reading this post now to send me your blog urls by hook or by crook! I dint save it under my bookmarks or anything.. lol

have you guys read or heard about The Secret? It's a success strategy used by many worldwide, since the olden days until now.. Anws.. if you haven heard of it, try google-ing it and see .. its rather interesting..

Sunday, 21 October 2007

chat box should be out when im more free.. haha

Saturday, 20 October 2007

hehe Some of you might be curious about why i started learning motor bike riding.. and i've had questions asked in school. AFter giving it some thought , i think i wanted to learn partly cos most of my cousins in m'sia know how to ride bikes.. and also its thrilling! yeps.. that's the reasons! haha

Friday, 19 October 2007

I managed to learn Gear Changing properly this 2nd time of my Session 8 lesson.. but once again, dint pass.. haiz.. Starting and stopping is really difficult!! and the circuit is SUPER small =((

How i wished i could managed to start engine, change Gear 2, then Gear 3, slow down and stop eventually all in one small circuit!! but coordination really is important and it shows i dun haf enough of body coordination!!! ahhh

i attended a talk on cancer this Saturday.. It was organised by Care Cancer, a singaporean cancer society. As some of you guys might know, the head of Care Cancer is Billy Wang. Anws.. there were 3 talks in the afternoon, and I'd like to talk about 2 of the 3 talks. One was on this Non-invasive surgery technique that is performed to remove cancerous tumours in patients. The other was on Music Qigong therapy that has positive effects on cancer patients' recovery.

I found this talk especially interesting and useful in my course of study since there're actual techniques that can alleviate pain and suffering in patients terminally-ill. Psychology may help, but it's kinda secondary/tertiary help. compared to medicine or psychiatry, psychology is kinda behind its real effectiveness in a sense.

Non-Invasive surgery
All of us know that surgery is required to remove cancerous tumours in traditional surgery, which still applies for a large proportion of cancer tumors nowadays. With the advent of medical science and techniques however, Dr Wang Zhi Biao and colleagues have come up with this non-invasive i.e. non-surgical (no blood spilled) technique called HIFU technique. This technique has helped remove tumors in women's wombs (for women with cervical cancer) and has helped save the lives of many women. There were many women in the past who had their cervix removed, thus removing their reproductive system, leaving women gender-less.

Isn't that wonderful? Actually you can explore the site i included under HIFU technique to read up more about it =)

Music Therapy
This is invented by this prodigy master called Wu Shen. He knows more than 50 musical instruments and used the culmination of them all, together with his knowledge and research into the history of Chinese philosophy and music, and also his knowledge of Physics, to research into Therapeutic music for the body. His 30 year research has yielded tremendous results! He has created music that has healed many cancer patients! Just by listening to the music, the tone and specific vibration of it makes certain cells in the body 'dance' and move accordingly, which have healing properties. this research has been acknowledged in the West, and many celebs have actually benefitted from it as well! Even animals can be helped too, as a lady's dog who had cancer was cured from it after listening to the therapeutic music =)

You guys can find this website here.. There's much more explanation of the techniques used by Master Wu Shen in the website.

I greatly encourage u guys to read through these things since they're largely relevant in our lives!

Friday, 12 October 2007

woah! Uso-desu-ne! Gear changing is WAY HArder than anything i've tried.. plus there was only 70mins!! Now i know not to take Session 8! haiz.. anws.. Watashiwa Gambatte desu yo! To pass 1.02 again! haha
i just nid more practice lor.. =(

And!! the throttle on one of the bikes with lowered seats.. it's way too dangerous! its so loose and hard to control! the training session was kinda traumatic because of the throttle!! bike also kinda 'broke down' and stopped midway a few times when i changed from 1st Gear to 2nd Gear! weird.. i'll try to avoid using it the next time - or check the throttle! haiz

Monday, 1 October 2007

I passed 1.01 !! heehee It was tiring and fun at the same time.. How do ple manage to not cramp their fingers when the clutch is held midway the whole time? hmmmm

sian

im either tired or bored.. i really need sth fun in my life!
but no energy to do the fun thing too..

actually sth fun happened yesterday..
I joined this conversation buddies thingy.. which is an event for foreign exchange students to learn English.. I joined with Christina and we had our first session this wednesday..
Anws.. we played a game Christina came up with.. based on the color of the mnms you picked out of the packet, you get to either answer a question/sing/truth or dare/embarasing situation/etc.. WE had loads and loads of fun playing.. and it was filled with laughter..
Also learnt stuffs about Korean and Japanese culture..
1 korean song and 1 Japanese song that's popular children's songs were sung..
we acted out some scenes from japanese drama..
and we shared things about spore.. and Tetsuya (our japanese buddy) recommended Tokyo as the best place in Japan for sightseeing and Tokyo disneyland for good fun! its only S$50 to enter Disneyland there! =D

the funny thing was that Tetsuya mentioned that Spore gals have better figure than Japanese girls.. quite surprising, as both Christina and I thought otherwise..
lols

so the session ended and i am SO looking forward to next week's ! hehe

tired

been so tired lately.. just super tired..
I need some activity that'll make me vent my frustrations.. some super physical activity..
but my stupid body is injured and i cant do anything.. makes me more frustrated. sighs.

Angel at my table (1990)

this movie was shown to us during advanced abnormal class last friday.. I couldn't stop thinking abt it since then, cos the main character kept going thru a lot of traumatic experiences and she wasn't at all schizophrenic, which she was accused of.

Anw, time for spoilers! i couldn't stand it anymore and went to search for the synopsis..

she was misdiagnosed (obviously!) and she's just probably socially awkward and slightly depressed..

Angel at my table is based on a true story of NZ's most celebrated poets/writers - Janet Frame.
this links to her works.

yeps so anws i'm so glad i know it .. now i can stop thinking of the ending and such..

interested about Janet Frame? read here..

decorated 151 bus

Today i boarded a 151 on the way to school.. it was decorated with red velvety seats.. and the cushions were white and looked very comfy! Its a bar concept, and there was loud rock music blaring on the speaker that was right above my head. There were round seats at the back of the bus too, which looked like armchairs. How i wished i could have sat on one of those! It was super crowded and i dint even had space to admire the refreshing decor. Well, hope i board it again!

Happiness is ..

Researchers have found some underlying factors for happiness..

Married people are more content than singles, but having children does not raise happiness level.

Education and IQ seem to have little impact on happiness.

Attractive people are only slightly happier than the unattractive.

The elderly (over 65) are more satisfied with their lives than the young.

Friendships are crucial if you want to be happy.

As much as 50% of the happiness factor is genetic. Educators say people can be taught the habits of optimism and how to handle negative thoughts.

my skype contact

recently i've been using skype ever since i worked at Breadtalk. There's this interesting contact who has been encouraging me about stress management!I find it both interesting and surprising that as an online stranger, he appears to be very sincere and helpful towards me.. I've been complaining to him things like 'sch is so boring and stressful' 'i hate my readings'. And his response is always encouraging and positive like 'this is your final year, just do well and you'll haf a gd future' or 'learn to cope with things one at a time, then you wont be stressed' or 'i'll chat with you, hopefully you wont be so stressed and unhappy and you'll go study later'. He just seems quite 'nice' and not so complicated as those online ple i've seen recently.. But due to my not-too-recent experience of jerk(s) online, i dun think i'll really believe in people online so easily.. thus he's still to be regarded with a mile-long rule!

I am so sick

I am so sick! sick sick sick

this weird tight pain in my lower abdomen that's been irritating me for 4 days counting.. Wonder when it'll get better.. been trying massage, eating less, drinking more water, exercising.. Nothing seems to work!! grr. super irritating!!

Life isn't looking wonderful too, since school already started and there's so much pressure to do well this semester! Haiz... Well anyways, i've been keeping myself busy with many activities.. One of which is this Conversation buddies program, and I made 4 new friends! They're from Japan, Korea and Vietnam. So cool! Our first session to converse is officially this coming Wed 11am!! haha. It's fun cos Christina joined with me (actually she asked me if i was interested to join, and i was, so i did!).. It's very interesting interacting with people from different nationalities and im so super excited to meet them this wednesday! hehe. Besides, I made a huge error on the first briefing by saying that I want to make more friends through the program (which the speaker said specifically that this shouldn't be our reason joining the program!!) LOLS. I missed almost the entire briefing! SO i wasn't informed. hahaha. it was quite a joke when i said it cos EVERYONE of them laughed and realised i shouldn't be saying that. lols.

Other activities include having my weekend busy with tuition and exercising early in the morning 6am (which kinda kills my sleeping pattern). My parents are recently super enthu about this Detox Exercise program, organised by Billy Wang. He heads the exercise at KK hospital everyday at 6am-7am.. And we have been, or rather, my parents have been diligently attending it every Saturday morning! While i've missed 2 sessions due to the late sleepless nights i spend either in front of my computer or having insomnia on my bed. Anws.. Waking up this early makes me sleepy around 9-10am of the same morning after the exercise! and I end up sleeping in the day more! Whether for good or for bad, it still kinda gets me stressed..

New Skin

YAY! finally i changed my blogskin.. Xiaoxuan recommended me this site, that has super cool blog skins! happened to find this one that i like and thus there's a new change! so happy!

anws.. thank you Janet, Zijia and my beloved Arul for the positive comments on this skin! So cool rite? haha My baby sister, seeks to disagree ( as always ) and thinks this is so childish compared to her new skin. Do check her skin if you guys are free. haha

Well, that's all for now!

Anxiety attacks

recently i seem to be having anxiety/panic attacks that're mild and slightly distressing.. they seem to occur anytime, but generally discomfort is felt during classroom lessons.. And I've never been like this before! I need some therapy! OH NO! Major distress..

For example, when i want to speak in class, i get jittery and stressed for NO apparent reason!
Haiz, i really duno wad to do.. I've been trying out Deep breaths before speaking up and clearing up my thoughts properly before talking.. to NO avail! It doesn't seem to work well at all.. I wonder why im so jittery nowadays..

Anws this sux and i really cant continue functioning now.. Im getting paranoid about these and it's spiraling down .. and I dun want my presentations to get all nervous and bad :( marks really gonna count this semester and I guess that's why im so panicky and anxious .. anws.. this isn't looking good and I really hope my strategies work out soon! haiz

School has started

I haven been updating my blog for quite long and seeing as Janet is urging me to, and also because its accumulating dust.. I shall post something about life recently..

Well, this is the first time in so many years i'm looking forward to school and anticipating the 'interesting' lectures in a seminar style!! Well, the first week of school wasn't that exciting rather than stressful as I realised there're alot of things to catch up on .. like readings on core modules and especially cos i took them more than 1 year ago! sheesh. So much stress and shall i call them undue stress? might be undue cos there're lotsa readings and they probably would help. plus since i decided to do my honors year, i should just take things in stride and i should have been prepared before school instead of trying to earn money! grr

wth. anws.. 2 of my modules are super duper hyper boring.. that's Psychological assessment and Social Psychology.. amazingly boring! but it should get more insightful as the lecture proper starts next week (i hope).. The module that's super interesting is Introduction to Counseling cos there're alot of insightful experiences contributed by the lecturer who's working as a Senior Psychologist at IMH (institute of mental health).

So i've been busy printing notes and pdf files lately since there're quite a number of lecture notes and readings associated with them..

The only problem i'm facing now is time management .. trying to re-allocate my tuition timings to 1 wkend day instead of both saturdays and sundays .. I cant stand not having 1 free weekend (someone agree with me that we at least need 1 empty day of rest and feel as if we have the whole day to do something that we love or at least just empty our minds from work or school? I bet everyone agrees.)

Also, recently something happened to my sister: she fell down heavily and badly in her school carpark. we suspect its got something to do with stepping over this joss sticks the previous night in our neighborhood.. anws.. i just hope its nothing to do with the ghost festival and since she already fell down badly, nothing else bad will happen again .. *shudders*

well anws since school has started, i must work hard this semester and try to do as best i can.. if not it'll be a waste of my time and also a bad choice to continue my honors year! I cant let down myself and everyone who believes in me!

anws.. the panorama picture wasn't taken well and there seems to be a ghost ship at the right side - So cool right. lols

Dante's Peak

Tonight i watched dante's peak.. a movie on volcano eruption starring Pierce Brosnan :) it was a very good and exciting show! slow beginning where there was a slight indication of the 'ending', almost a cheerful and non-suspecting middle, until the very scary and hair-raising, pillow-gripping climax at the end! lives were lost and towns were destroyed.. overall a very educational show that brings me in touch with earth's natural disasters and also about how nature can sometimes destroy itself in a most peculiar way that humans are not good with handling.

still, the volcano pyroclaustic cloud was spectacular and certainly Pierce Brosnan is rather charming.. hee

well, that's all for today!

my work is completely horrible

this morning i went to work fresh and cheerful only to be greeted by 3 ple telling me off in a haphazard helicopter spinning fast kinda way that i've done millions of mistakes and that i need to correct them.. i was still thinking which breakfast should i eat- my biscuits or my cereal or my bread.. and they were telling me things that i've no idea about.. plus i knew in my carelessness, i probably did some errors, but not THAT many.. well, since im just a temp worker, i better just take it and listen carefully unless i wana make More mistakes.. so the morning goes..

i realised after checking that i onli had 4 errors! in the whole excel sheet which had more than, lemmi c, 25 stalls, 5 items to check for each stall, and 23 days altogether, that makes 25 time 5 time 23! that's quite a huge number rite? i onli made 4 mistakes! well, that doesn't sound too bad to myself! but NO, the supervisor had to repeat to me at least 4 times that i made MANY errors! she had to keep insisting that. wth. just shut up. im already correcting the dumb errors i made so just shut up. its irritating how she fakes a smile and then tells me off. also she said 'every body makes mistakes' after she said 'dont u see how many mistakes there are? i highlighted them in red" but all i saw was the ratio of 4 is to 7. 4: mistakes, 7: non-mistakes! and she insisted i make super a hell of a lot mistakes. that is just so bitchy. i hate it.

anws.. the whole day was ruined. just completely ruined. i hate this work. the pple are so damn rude they cant tell you properly when u do sth wrong. and they simply just take u as an object, not as a freaking human being.

i wished i cld quit now. like just stop working but i cant. i gotta stick til sch reopens. and that sux. i wished i had loads of $$ so i dun hafta put down my pride and work like shit in that shitty asshole place. i hate it.

i did it!

i just had to click on the improve ur template or sth like that..

Prawn Mee

Today's lunch was special cos my mom decided to make her homecooked prawn noodles!
What a feast we had! The last time my mom made her special-recipe homecooked prawn noodles was literally 10 years ago! when i was still a small kid !! Wow then, i thought how delicious those noodles tasted, and how wonderful the prawns crunched in my mouth, and how fragrant the rich prawn soup was!

Today was no different- it was a huge family affair and everyone of us just helped out in little ways..cooking the noodles or arranging the ingredients nicely on big bowls etc.. its amazing how a simple meal bonds a family together.

Prawns- main ingredient

Chili! YUM YUM

my 2nd acupuncture

This time round, the experience was better.. it wasnt so scary anymore.. but i stil dun dare to look at the needles on myself!

I brought along my gameboy so i dint look at others' needles.. but there're the regulars as most of us go at almost the same timing.. There's the old lady who has trouble walking, the old man in the corner who has stroke (he always has needles on his head, and leg, and arm), this new chatty old lady who told us she's been receiving treatment from this acupuncturist for 5 years!! (for her back and legs), and this middle aged, quite gd looking man who has needles stuck on his legs and arms, and this old lady who has problems walking too!! They're the regulars whom i've met for 2 consecutive weeks already!

Playing gameboy really relieves the stress on my mind.. Im so afraid of needles, but its not that painful at all.. It's just the way it looks! Looks really freaky to haf needles sticking outta your own body.. im not really scared of the pain cos its just a tiny prick on the skin.. Onli thing is, when its stuck on ur arms or legs, you cant move! only when its just on ur head, you can walk around or run around also no problem!!

heee hope u guys wont be scared of needles as much as I am! Still, its not that bad.. i figure i'll be a regular at the place.. since it seems quite reliable and the treatment is quite effective! I better wait for a few weeks before i say it really works :)

My model

This is my model of the day! He's Arul. I dressed him up in my white woolly cap and dark blue shawl made to look like his neck tie! Do give ur comments on whether this model looks good k ! Criticism is much appreciated =D haha

Just gonna say i had much fun dressing him up and he looks miserable and agonised, which was exactly how he felt! LOL

Fuzzy! my soft toy

This is Fuzzy! My soft toy :) He has a cute personality and is somewhat blur blur .. HE has small beady eyes and smooth ear fur .. He likes to squeak and fly around as if he's an aeroplane! He loves pretending he's a tiger or a lion too! But he's actually a very kind animal and he loves humans~ HE has many friends, including a Duck called Ah Quack, another baby duck called Ji Cha, and a big bear called Da Xiong Xiong :) Shall feature them later ...

These are his playmates, the 2 ducks! They occasionally go swimming in the nearby pool or play catching and ducky games downstairs at the game station! Their favourite games include finding Ah Cha's lost eye (which includes alot of crazy searching from anything like berries that closely resemble the small beady black eye, to rummaging in the rubbish for any black beady things! Yuck) Their ducky games also includes silly contests like singing, rather quacking competitions for their own leisure.. They also enjoy laughing at Fuzzy and his silly quirks! ^.^ Well, that's all for now.. do tune in for another series of Fuzzy! my soft toy next week :)

stoopid guy on bus

This morning i was late for work as usual.. and there was this guy sitting opposite me.. he was with his gf and they were chatting loudly.. they weren't that happy when i sat down cos they had to put down their legs from the comfy bump below the seats..

for some reason, this guy started to shake his legs.. and his legs were long, so there's onli a small gap between mine and his.. When he starts to shake his legs sideways, his jeans will touch my knees.. and its super uncomfortable... I was actually sick this morning so i was slightly grouchy and irritable.. So i tried my best to shift my legs first.. Since if i were to tell him off, it might haf been a bad scene..

so throughout the journey, i whipped out my gameboy and keep killing the orcs!! and giving stares.. but to no avail! haha.. wished i knew some kung fu or had a better speech or fiercer look!! grr

anws.. these few days work is so boring and i keep falling sick to skin allergies.. which are super disgustingly horribly ITCHY! and it is so ugly and just ugly.. sighs.. life is abit depressing and gloomy.. so sian..

and my colleague's farewell ktv session is tmr night but i dun even haf the mood to attend! and my frens asked me out to ktv next monday.. and i also no mood to go..

Ktv is one of my favourites! but seems like recently really no mood to go .. plus its so expensive! haiz :((

i Am so pissed.. so pissed!!

today is 24th and im so pissed!

took a day off from work to celebrate our anniversary. Supposed to go off at 9am, and we kinda had a day planned. but turned out he slept til 12 noon! I shld haf just worked half day today.. I was kinda expecting it might turn out like that.. working half day is better than slacking at home rite? STUPID ME! this is just turning out so expected and i just dun wana waste my time, plus waste my money.. I m like so Short of cash alr.. wad with needing it for my trip to tibet next yr.. I m not even having any savings!! SHUCKS this sux like shit.. and now half my day is wasted! its not as if im earning big bucks in the job but every dollar counts wad.. stupid.. now im so super pissed.. it is entirely horrible!

now i've this bad feeling that later, things will just turn out badly, cos now im in sucha terribly pissed-off mood.. sure wont turn out well at all! see, even my grammar is all wrong already! means im really pissed! GRRR im in the mood to just murder him off!

well, why am i so stupid? shldn've just taken half day off! GRRRRR

That's an added bonus for the anniversary!

My First Acupuncuture experience

When I went into the clinic, everything seemed ok.. It was a normal clinic with patients.. duh.. Anws.. onli when my parents started receiving treatment when I realised there were many patients with long needles sticking from their body parts.. Notice I say body parts cos it looked as if the body parts were separate and dun form 1 whole body.. and the needles were LONG and poking out of those body parts.. be they arms, legs, feet, hands, ears or head.. Yes Head! I was So freakted out and totally didn't expect it to look like that.. I mean, I M scared of needles.. I was , am , and will ever be.. It was sO scary.. my legs felt wobbly... my hands felt chilly and had cold sweat.. my whole body was kinda shivering and i couldn't swallow properly..

What a terrible exposure and scare.. Haizz

I cant go on about it anymore.. the thought of it just freaks me out..

Elgin Bridge

This is the part of Kallang River where people could walk from one bank of the river to the next. Elgin bridge is a historical side of Singapore.. It was built 3 years after Raffles landed in Singapore.. guess which year? 1822!! cool rite? it has a history of 185 years!! WOW

This is the current standing bridge at nite ..

Check out the cool lamps on each 'bone' of the bridge

Many cars use this bridge every day and night :) Beautiful structure, aint it? Why don't designers in Singapore build such bridges anymore?

chern lian shan

Hey nanyang girls!! This is Chern Lian Shan, the artist who carved a bronze look-alike of Madam Ling Siew Mei.

Indeed, the man on the left is Mr Ong Teng Cheong, the 1st directly-elected President of Singapore.

Chern Lian Shan is a very accomplished artist.
This is just 1 of the many awards he won.

I happened to pass by this interesting looking shop when I was out exploring town.. It is situated in level 2 of The Riverwalk near Clarke Quay .. There're more interesting shops in there.. seems to be a very artistic place.. I'll post them somewhere else since this post is titled Chern Lian Shan :)

delicious stingray

I'd recommend all foods with barbeque sambal, reasonable price and serving size too!
Do try it :)

Location: somewhere beside The Riverwalk

Price range: S$3 to S$7.50 for rice meals

Caution: The hot sambal bbq stingray might be too hot/spicy for ur palate!!

eventful day

Well I realised that workplace people aren't that nice, especially ur bosses and especially when you do something they dont like.. They can just fire you without warning you about what you did that they don't like.. Leaving you feeling like crap or feeling like you wana put fire to the building or puncturing their tyres..

It happened to one of my friends, whom I introduced to the job.. Happened that he told me his side of the story, and i heard the other side of the story when i contacted one of the colleagues.. Sighs.. wished things could've happened differently, else i could be colleagues with my friend now.. Sianz.. So anws.. I wont reveal what exactly happened, but i just wana get the message across that IF you wana slack during work, dun let ur boss see u doing it :)

cheers

tuition kids

recently i gave my tuition kids stories to write... and coincidentally both kids (one 13, other 15) decided to write on the same topic... Hot topic among kids nowadays. Yep U guessed right! Maple Story!!

Well, i had fun reading the 2 stories - They were simply So different! and real cool to read..

13 year old kid wrote a game manual, telling me his favorite computer game, how to sign up, dl, what's there to play, characters and stuffs.. Its interesting how he thinks, why he wrote a manual for the title "My favorite computer game".

15 year old kid wrote about him actually entering Maple Story world as a character he plays, and how he met his classmate n competitor of MS.. How they fought off enemies and tried to escape out of MS back in the real world..

What an entirely different perspectives!!

My favorite song

Went KTV with JW on monday..
We sang alot of songs!! Chinese, English, old, new.. etc..

I realised my current favorite song is (omg how do i write Chinese characters?) tian tian ye ye by F.I.R.

here's the link to youtube, http://youtube.com/watch?v=qz8QeHIbdqI

trying to get it singing on the page but i duno how..

shirt for bf

Turns out the shirt is a girl's shirt cos its buttons are on the other side!
BIG CRIES
Why dint the salesman tell me its not guy shirt?
Weird thing is, all the shirts on sale were guyish rite?

Lollypops!!

Zijia bought us Lollypops from Disneyland! Mickey mouse lollypops ! hehe
I got the red one cos I couldn't decide and yellow and green was chosen by Tina and Janet =D

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Went out watching Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix...
Not a very good show .. little action, predictable plot, little highlights..

For me, quidditch was the highlight of Harry Potter series.. and Since this movie had no quidditch, it was really a boring show.. Also, Richard Harris (who acted as Dumbledore in the Chamber of Secrets, and the Sorcerer's Stone) was much suited for the role of Dumbledore than the current actor Michael Gambon (who has signed to act in the REST OF the Harry Potter films). That's ONE good reason not to watch any more.. :((

Well, i guess i've grown out of Harry Potter.. Its more suitable for kids probably.. My other friends who were watching also found the movie boring :(

I'd give the movie 2 stars out of 5. overall not recommended to watch.

There's this beautiful place with grassy fields, trees and its not too brightly lit at night... Simply lying on the grass with your loved one, looking at stars in the cloudless night sky is heavenly! Lovely place to pig out too! hehe

Sonic the hedgehog GBA

Does anyone know if Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis) for GameBoy Advance is good to play??Heard from reviews its not that good.. Anyone who's selling or perhaps have played the game please comment... would really appreciate also if anyone could recommend a good Sonic the Hedgehog game! Been itching to play for very long cos I used to play it when young and my Game Gear has since spoilt..
