a new perspective

Once you start looking around you properly, things start going into perspective. And i mean, one either regresses into the past, which means you don't really 'see' things in a new perspective, or really look at things in a different light. Recently, many such new perspectives about people, things, events have struck me.

For instance, why do people nag? 2 theories: Are they self-obsessed or perfectionistic?

Theory 1: Self-obsession leads to nagging because they only care about themselves, and when things dont go according to what they themselves want, or are capable of construing, they nag at others or themselves about it.
Theory 2: Perfectionistic people nag because they cant stand things to be wrong. A single small minor error will cause them to nag (mostly in the form of nagging mental thoughts running around in their heads telling them what a big failure they're).

Which of the theories seem better?

HAHA can nagging be considered as a compulsive behaviourial disorder ?
Maybe some people feel happier when they nag. It is like throwing one's temper... But really, I dislike people who nag ... Don't you ?

One's perspective is often altered by one's mood without one's notice..

of course everyone hates to be nagged at!

I guess perhaps nagging can be a disorder if it is prolonged over a period of time, lets say it persists for more than 3 months and occurs at a frequency of at least once a day. Then it can perhaps be considered a disorder?
(one could refer to DSM IV for more details)

However, why does nagging have to be compulsive? Compulsive means repeated over many times. So if 1 issue is repeatedly being 'nagged' at, then perhaps nagging is compulsive.

Nagging is also behavioral in the sense that it manifests itself in one's behavior..

I guess jac could be right about nagging being a compulsive behavioral disorder :)

So wad do others think? about my theory 1 and 2?
